Kibble has only been around for about 100 years. In that time there has been a drastic and continued increase of disease in our pets — chronic degenerative diseases; auto-immune diseases; allergies; kidney, pancreatic, and liver diseases; cancer, and more. Experts believe these diseases are directly related to eating a processed diet that is species-inappropriate. In addition over 80% of dogs will get some form of dental disease in their lifetime — roughly the same percentage who eat dry food. Nearly 60% are overweight or obese. Half over the age of 10 will develop cancer — but most won’t make it past that age to begin with.

It’s as though they invented ‘dog years’ to hide a shorter lifespan. But we want more actual years with our pets. And that starts with what we feed them.

Why is raw better than cooked?

Fresh, cooked food is not bad food (and it's certainly better than kibble), but with raw, you're feeding food in its most digestible state. For dogs, cooking the food alters its makeup, causing essential nutrients and enzymes to become less bioavailable.

Put simply: with cooked foods, your dog has to work harder to get the nutrients he needs.

Is Raw Safe?

A balanced raw diet for dogs made from high-quality meats is the healthiest option for your pet, but it's important to remember that a proper raw diet is more than just ground hamburger meat from the grocery store. The right ratios of muscle meat, organ meat, bone, fruit, vegetable and seeds or nuts are critical to getting a raw diet right. That's where we come in with our balanced raw diet recipe for dogs. Our pre-mixed meals are complete and balanced and Biologically Accurate Raw Feed (BARF) nutrition standards, which means your pet will get everything they need, and just that. With Snoot & Toe Beans, you don't have to worry about a thing--our balanced raw diet recipes for dogs were developed by pet nutritionist and specifically formulated to cover all the nutritional needs of your dog. It's never been easier to provide a well balanced raw diet for your dog.

AAFCO Vs. Raw Food

You may have noticed on many raw pet foods, including Snoot & Toe Beans Raw food states that the food is not “complete & balanced” according to AAFCO standards. This is because AAFCO standards are designed for highly-processed foods. A raw diet is very unprocessed. Raw diets are so unprocessed that synthetic vitamins or minerals aren't needed because the original prey & BARF formulation has everything a dog needs! Infact, adding synthetic vitamins & minerals to a raw diet to acheive the standard AAFCO has set could cause hypervitaminosis or mineral toxicity.

How Do We Choose Our Ingredients?

At Snoot & Toe Beans quality ALWAYS trumps quanity. So after 5 years of school, research, trials and errors and lots of fun feeding our own dogs a raw diet, we knew we wanted our food to offer only the best while still staying affordable. We chose proteins & organs that are biologically digestable for your dog, fuits like strawberries that have natural antioxidants and anti-inflammitory properties. Vegetables like spinach that are heart healthy, mushrooms reduce premature aging and carrots have been shown to detox the body of cancer causing compounds including "Myxotoxin" (commonly found in kibble). We also made sure to include flaxseed because it improve's intestinal health, fight's obesity and control's blood sugar and tumeric/black pepper for joint health.
